Every year, CU organizes a night of dancing and celebrating. As a grassroots organization, we must raise our own funds that do not rely on any institutions. It is a chance to dress up and have a good time with community. We have to be able to pull our resources and continue supporting each other. We have to continue to create spaces for our communities to exist as a collective where our individual struggles are all our struggles. Spaces where those of us who have a little bit of means share those means, not for recognition or charity, but because they genuinely want to share. Because they genuinely want to try to counter (as much as possible) the very real economic and emotional stressors placed on those who are trying to actively engage in knowledge construction through institutional education. This fundraiser fully funds our summer internship.
